What’s Inside: Halogen, Quartz, and a Connector That Just Works
Inside, you’ve got a tungsten-halogen element in a high-purity quartz tube. The halogen cycle keeps the filament from blackening the tube, so the lamp holds steady output over its life. The quartz handles thermal shock and runs hot enough to keep the element clean, which helps keep performance consistent. The connector is an R7s, double-ended, ceramic-based. We chose it because it stays stable at high temps and mounts cleanly. It’s a direct mechanical and electrical match for standard halogen sockets, so you can swap it in without changing the fixture.
Where It Shines—And the Trade-Off You Should Know
This configuration is for the moments when you need intense, localized heat, fast—think plastic processing, forming, and other industrial heating tasks. The lamp comes alive quickly and gives you tight control over heat, so you can hold repeatable temperatures on your parts. Here’s the trade-off: packing 1200W into a 500mm tube means high heat density. So your machine needs good airflow and shielding to keep nearby components from getting too hot.
