The secret in the glass
We use high-purity quartz because, frankly, the inside of these things get incredibly hot. Then there’s the halogen gas. It stops the tungsten from evaporating and gunking up the glass walls. This keeps the tube crystal clear, which means your infrared output stays strong even after the lamp has seen some heavy use. One quick tip?**Keep your reflectors clean.**If they’re dusty or grimy, you’re basically throwing away the efficiency of that 1000W tube.
Getting it right in your shop
These are pretty much drop-in replacements for most industrial flash-off tunnels. They’re perfect for when you need to “shock” a material into curing. But a word of caution. 1000W in a 450mm tube creates a massive amount of heat soak. If your venting is clogged or your cooling fans are acting up, you’re going to fry the lamp ends. To keep things safe, hook it up to a precise PID controller so you don’t accidentally torch your substrate. And do yourself a favor: check your connectors for oxidation every six months. It takes two minutes, but it prevents those annoying voltage drops that mess with your quality.
