Ever wonder why some heaters just hit instantly while others take forever to warm up? That’s where our 118mm halogen lamps come in. Basically, we take a tungsten filament and wrap it in high-purity quartz. But here’s the clever bit: the halogen cycle. It stops the tungsten from gunking up the glass, so the tube stays crystal clear. That means you get the same punch of heat on day one as you do a year later. Speed is the whole point. Because these lamps are so compact, they pack a ton of power into a tiny space. Whether you’re running 110V or 230V, the result is the same: they ramp up fast. Like, seconds fast. You aren’t standing around waiting for a machine to warm up; you’re already moving. And we didn’t want you fighting with your hardware, so we used the R7s snap-in base. If a lamp burns out, you just pop it out and snap a new one in. No rewiring, no headache. We also use quartz glass because it’s tough. It can handle the shock of going from freezing to scorching and back again without cracking. Plus, if you’re working with plastics, we can add a gold or organic coating. This pushes the heat deeper into the material rather than just scorching the surface. A few things to keep in mind… You’ll mostly find these in shrink tunnels, curing ovens, or PET blowing machines. They’re great for keeping a fast production line moving. But a word of caution: these things gethot. Seriously hot. Don’t put them too close to anything that can catch fire. And if you’re pushing them to the max, make sure your housing has plenty of airflow, or you might actually melt your sockets. One last tip? Keep an eye on your voltage. Power spikes are the fastest way to kill a filament, so keep your power steady and these lamps will treat you right.
