Here is how we actually make them: we take a high-purity quartz envelope, pop in a tungsten filament, and fill the rest with a specific halogen gas mix. That chemistry is the secret sauce. It stops the filament from evaporating too fast, which means we can crank the heat way higher than you’d get with a standard quartz lamp. Talking Power and Specs When you’re picking out a tube, it all comes down to voltage and wattage. That’s what decides your heat density. If you go with a 230V or 400V setup, we can pack more wattage into a shorter tube. This is a lifesaver for things like welding plastic or blowing PET bottles. You get a concentrated blast of heat that sinks right into the material. But a word of caution: if you’re stuffing a high-wattage tube into a tight housing,**check your cooling fans.**If they aren’t up to the task, you’re going to fry your wiring. Simple as that. The Hardware Side of Things We stick with quartz glass because it lets short-wave IR radiation pass through without wasting energy. Now, depending on what you’re doing, you might want a coated tube.
